Good Morning in Japanese

Ohayo is a morning greeting word in japan. When seeing or greeting someone for first time that day in the morning (before noon) you say ohayo-gozaimasu (おはよう-ございます)

There are three ways to use Ohayo, informal with friends, formal, or using with minna to greet a group.

Informal

ohayo - おはよう

When talking to friends you can just say Ohayo

Formal Good Morning

ohayo gozaimasu - おはようございます

Adding gozaimasu to ohayo makes it a formal greeting.
